Find the Friend Court Docket

Start with the office that holds the paper. A Friend court docket search splits three ways in Saline County. Friend City Hall keeps the city's own records. A sheriff or police department holds whatever its officers created, and anything filed as a state case sits with the Saline court system. When a case number, citation, or hearing notice points to County Court or District Court, Nebraska's statewide tools cover the court side of the split. One event can leave both a city record and a court record. They follow separate access paths. Before you rely on a calendar result, confirm the setting with the clerk.

Friend City Hall Records

The official City of Friend contact page places City Hall at 235 Maple Street, Friend, NE 68359. The phone number is 402-947-2711. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The hours apply on weekdays. City Hall lists contact paths for the City Clerk and Deputy Clerk. Use them for Friend city business. They are not a court docket line. Nor do they replace the Wilber clerks.

A focused records request should name the record type. It should also give the relevant date range and the preferred format. Include the department. Ask for a minute, ordinance, legal notice, or administrative record in those terms. Do not phrase it as a request for a court register. If a document mentions a filing or a state case number, the matter belongs in state court. Take the Friend inquiry to County Court or District Court.

The Friend Municipal Court

Friend has no separately searchable municipal court. No local court calendar is published under a Friend Municipal Court heading. The same goes for a court number format, municipal judge, or city payment processor. City Hall can keep Friend municipal records. A court-filed ordinance or citation case, though, moves into the state court structure. Do not mislabel the city's enforcement and administrative work as a public municipal docket.

For a filed Friend case, Saline County Court usually comes first. It takes traffic cases, misdemeanors, infractions, and small claims. It also handles probate matters, preliminary felony proceedings, and city ordinance violations. Saline District Court is the general-jurisdiction level. Its docket holds felony trial cases, civil cases above the County Court limit, domestic relations, equity, and appeals. The court layer, not the Friend location, tells you which clerk keeps the docket.

Note: Friend posts no public docket portal. That absence proves nothing. A city record, a citation, or an enforcement process can still exist without one.

Friend Sheriff and Court Records

For police non-emergency matters, Friend's official notice routes calls to the Saline County Sheriff at 402-947-5531. That is a law-enforcement routing number. It is not a Friend court-records line. The Friend police and contact notice helps because it keeps agency roles clear: city records, sheriff-held records, and court records are not interchangeable.

The sheriff's role does not move a judicial docket into sheriff hands. A court clerk, in turn, cannot certify a law-enforcement record. Start with the office that created or filed it.

Friend Court Dates and Settings

Friend has no verified city court calendar in the reviewed sources. A filed Friend hearing is checked through the Nebraska Multi-Court Case Calendar. Choose County Court or District Court, select Saline County, then search by date or last name. The state calendar can return a case number, caption, date, time, location, judge, and event type when the information is available, but it warns that accuracy may be delayed.

DateThe court setting date for a filed Friend case; compare it with the hearing notice.
TimeThe calendar time, which can change after a reset or continuance.
CourtCounty Court or District Court, the key to the Friend clerk route.
LocationThe setting location shown by the court or notice, usually the county courthouse for this route.
Setting typeA hearing label, such as arraignment, pretrial, motion, trial, status, or sentencing; it is not an outcome.

For a Friend date you must appear on, trust the hearing notice plus a call to the clerk. A blank calendar is not proof of a cancellation. An entry is no promise it will proceed unchanged.

Friend Records Contact Update

Friend's official notice reports that city email addresses were updated on July 17, 2024. That local change matters. An old email copied from a document can fail, while the live City Hall contact page stays current. Use the live page. Never treat an older address as permanent. For time-sensitive requests, check state court addresses and numbers on the current court pages too.

Friend's incorporated-place count in the 2020 Census is 954. That figure is a ranking datum. It is not a current estimate, and not a Friend docket-volume statistic. Friend-specific court filing totals are not published, so do not pass countywide reports off as city caseload data.

Friend Traffic Tickets

Start a Friend state citation lookup at the official Nebraska Citation Information service. It searches by issuing county, citation type, citation number, and citation date. Extra fields appear when the form asks for them. A citation number and date beat a name as search keys. Lost the number on a filed Saline matter? County Court at 402-821-2131 can help.

Friend itself posts no city payment form or municipal citation portal. So do not assume a Friend City Hall contact can process a state judicial citation. The state's payment instructions permit payment without appearance only for waiverable matters. An offense that requires an appearance still requires one. The ePayment system adds a minimum charge of $1.25 per case or ticket payment. The exact amount and terms must be confirmed for each case.

City administrative traffic material, if any, belongs with the city or issuing agency. It does not belong in a statewide court search. A payment path and a court register answer different questions.

Friend Court Record Requests

For a filed Friend County Court record, the Clerk Magistrate is Joshua McDougall. For a filed Friend District Court record, the District Clerk is Amber Mulbery. Both offices sit at 204 South High Street in Wilber, but their dockets are separate. State policy lets staff help locate permitted public information. Staff can also discuss plain or certified copies, and explain whether a record is electronic, paper-only, retained, or restricted.

Case number
The most useful Friend court key for a copy, hearing, or docket request.
Register of actions
The chronological court record of public filings, events, settings, and orders.
Certified copy
A clerk-authenticated copy of a specified court document.
City administrative record
A Friend record that may remain at City Hall and may never become a court case.

Saline County posts no complete local price menu for plain or certified copies. No turnaround promise or Friend municipal certified-copy procedure is published either. Ask the office holding the record for the current method and charge before sending payment.

Where Friend Cases End Up

A Friend record lands in court only when it is filed in the state judicial system. A Friend event alone is not enough. County Court is the usual route for filed traffic, misdemeanor, infraction, ordinance, small-claim, probate, juvenile, and preliminary felony matters. District Court takes its general-jurisdiction work and appeals. A federal case sits outside Nebraska JUSTICE. So it will not appear in a Friend court search.

Docket flow: Friend city or agency record › Saline County Court if a complaint or citation is filed › Saline District Court for its jurisdiction or an appeal › Nebraska Court of Appeals where the state route applies.

The Saline County court docket overview gives countywide court routing. Ask Friend City Hall, the sheriff, County Court, and District Court only for the records each one keeps.

Friend Court Portal Limits

Friend publishes no municipal-court search, court calendar, fine schedule, docket code list, local payment portal, or city court form. That is why the focus here stays on identifying who holds the record. The point is not some invented local search tool. The city office is an official municipal route. JUSTICE and the state calendar are official court routes. Neither should be described as the other.

A Friend document with no case number may be a city administrative record, an agency record, or a complaint filed in County Court, so ask. If it carries a court case number, use that number for JUSTICE, calendar, and clerk requests. That one distinction saves you from searching the wrong system over and over.

Public Access to Friend Court Records

Nebraska's public-access limits govern Friend court records. Authorized remote access and the courthouse terminal can supply permitted case summaries, registers of actions, calendars, and available images. Files may still contain redacted, sealed, confidential, or remotely unavailable items. Juvenile, adoption, criminal-history, protection-order, mental-health, and other protected categories face extra limits. A visible Friend docket entry never promises a complete file.

Key Rules:

Nebraska Court Rule Article 8, §§1-804 to 1-805 describes the public electronic-access categories and the courthouse-terminal alternative.

Nebraska Court Rule §2-215 provides for public court filings unless law, rule, or order makes them restricted.

Nebraska Public Records Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. §84-712 supplies the general public-record examination and copying framework.

When requesting a Friend court record, name the court, the case number or caption, the approximate year, the exact document, and whether you need a plain or certified copy. Courts will not issue a no-record certificate. A destroyed-record form letter may be available under the retention policy, though.

Friend Court Access Check

Identify the record custodian before searching any Friend name. City Hall handles city records. The sheriff route covers the agency records it retains. County Court and District Court handle filed judicial cases. Check the official calendar for a Friend hearing, and verify any important date with the right court clerk.

Note: Searchable Friend court information may be incomplete, delayed, redacted, sealed, or excluded, so confirm a needed record with the office that maintains it.
